Governor of the Voronezh Region Alexander Gusev met with relatives of those mobilized from the region, who recorded a video message asking him to return the men from the front line after heavy fighting.
“We discussed the format of interaction. The dialogue will continue, I keep the issue under personal control,” the head of the region wrote in his Telegram channel. Alexander Gusev did not comment on the essence of the meeting in more detail.
Earlier, an appeal to the governor by relatives of the Voronezh mobilized was published on social networks. On it, the wife of one of them, Inna Popova, spoke about the men who were mobilized earlier and later on October 12.
“They left the military unit on Leninsky Prospekt in the direction of Valuyki. There they were redistributed and sent towards Lugansk. On the very first day they were brought in, they were put on the front line,” the woman said. According to her, the command abandoned them, after which the men came under mortar fire.
Inna Popova’s husband told her that the fight had been going on for three days. The mobilized had submachine guns “with four horns”. After the battle, the men turned to the commandant’s office with a request to remove them from the front line. “They were allowed to move back a little. In fact, no one removed them,” the woman said. She and other relatives asked officials to help rescue the fighters from the front line, provide material and psychological assistance, and send everyone to the hospital.
