There is nothing to talk about – “Conversations” are necessary. ROVs, as they were reduced in schools that appeared this year in the program “Conversations about the Important”, are imputed for attendance by everyone. There is no alternative, there is no discussion either, but you keep… That is, you go. And find a place for the ROV, as for the anthem and flag of the Russian Federation, in the laid-out grid of lessons. As for the most important!

It is difficult and dangerous to argue with such arguments. Moreover, the state symbols in the school curriculum are now enshrined in the Law “On Education”. ROVs are not fixed, but as a mandatory hour they are included in the curriculum.

So wherever you throw it, but on Monday mornings early in the morning, schoolchildren have patriotism on schedule. Those who are late are not allowed into the schoolyard until the national anthem is played. “Plus hour” in the morning at the beginning of the week is not really important for someone. But for the school, this is serious. Even five-graders have 7 lessons now, Monday is a hard day …

Why so many? Because in Moscow, for example, a profile division of classes has been introduced since the fifth grade. It does not mean that some “extra” subjects are removed from the schedule – on the contrary, hours are added to the profile disciplines. The need for all this is still blurred, like the profile of Blok’s strangers. But it’s too late to be surprised, the experiment is going on.

But the deepening of subjects starting from the seventh grade (mathematics, chemistry with biology, physics, computer science) is several years old.

In strong schools, the level of deepening reaches the heights of university training. And not just techies. The “lyricists” have their own horizons of complexity. There are three foreign languages ​​in the linguistic class (English and two more). The humanities students have a history of arts in their curriculum, and in addition, such a list of literature that Yuri Lotman would have been impressed with. Perhaps in the sense that all this is at school.

Now, starting from rigid profiles and not only, schools are guessing in advance where else to insert the clock. To historical enlightenment, about the need for which military historians led by Medinsky spoke so much? Or to NVP lessons with elements of hand-to-hand combat, army geodesy and nursing, which are either rave about or nostalgic in the State Duma? Or give even more homework and keep the kids awake? It is still not clear what the curriculum will be. “He’ll burst, baby” …

The other day, a new initiative was announced – a “different” class hour. The idea is good, the thought moves on the right path. Like, we need to make one more conversation with schoolchildren, one is not enough. Now only with high school students: what is important, what is valuable in life. Ecology there, volunteering, original creativity, the history of the native land… The frequency or mass character of the “other hour” is not known. But it is quite clear that “everything takes place in the form of a quiz.”

But why, just seeing the word “hour” (another hour!), does the school head teacher fall into horror, and the parent into a stupor? Probably because the first one mentally imagines a schedule grid, where there are 7-8 lessons in high school every day. And he panics in advance, because the 9th lesson is prohibited by law. The parent, having come out of the coma, sorts out the child’s schedule verified to the minute. So, instead of tutors, it’s impossible, the exam is just around the corner … Instead of homework, it’s also impossible, these sheets must be done every day … Side, then, a music school, an “artist” or sports. Free time for a child? No, you haven’t heard…

And only a schoolboy is probably happy to take one more obligatory class hour. Called not only to strengthen faith in the government and the fatherland, but also to expand its “future opportunities”. And the missing teaching hours at school in the amount of at least 34 lessons per year (the number of ROV lessons) is another matter. They don’t talk about it…
