State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin criticized Russian citizens who left the country after the announcement of partial mobilization on September 21. According to him, it is necessary to formulate a position in relation to those who left the country. Mr. Volodin said that the Russians who left “have not yet sniffed gunpowder, but have already crawled under the beds and skirts.” He also offered to transfer their abandoned cars to the families of the mobilized.

“We need to formulate an attitude. First of all, to young people, men who have not yet sniffed gunpowder, but have already climbed under the bed. What is this? But those who have been bombed for eight years, they made their choice today. And there are none there. They are fighting for life, the future of their children,” the speaker of the State Duma said during the meeting, recalling the referendums that took place the day before in the DPR, LPR, as well as Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.

During the meeting, Viacheslav Volodin also suggested considering the transfer of cars left at the border, which belong to citizens who left the country after mobilization. The speaker of the State Duma noted that vehicles can be given to the families of the mobilized.

At the same time, he opposed the introduction of a temporary ban on leaving the country. “Why are they here, in a situation where the country is facing challenges? Consumers, traitors. Their country is in second place, if not fourth or fifth,” said Viacheslav Volodin.

Earlier today, September 28, Andrey Klimov, head of the Federation Council Commission for the Protection of State Sovereignty declaredthat those who left the country will be able to return “without legal consequences”, but they “cannot avoid moral consequences”.

The number of Russian citizens leaving the country increased after ads by Russian President Vladimir Putin a partial mobilization on 21 September. As reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Ossetia, from September 25 to 27, 20,248 Russian citizens entered Georgia through the Vernhiy Lars checkpoint. On the eve of September 27, 5.5 thousand cars stood in line at the Russian-Georgian border. At the checkpoint started issuance of subpoenas to persons liable for military service, regardless of registration. To Kazakhstan left 98 thousand Russians.
