State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said that the lower house of parliament is discussing several initiatives to ban trash streams. According to him, in recent days there have been many requests on this topic.
“We will consider bills banning trash streams during the spring session as a priority. These measures will discourage everyone who wants to make money and become famous on the Internet by bullying others,” wrote Vyacheslav Volodin in Telegram channel.
The Chairman of the State Duma called trash streams broadcasts in which “acts demonstrating cruelty, sadism, and abuse of people and animals” are committed. As an example, he cited a case where a blogger threw a child into a snowdrift.
Vyacheslav Volodin added that the deputies propose to classify trash streams as information prohibited for distribution, and the very fact of broadcasting to be classified as aggravating circumstances under ten criminal articles. The organizers of such broadcasts will be fined up to 700 thousand rubles, and social networks will be required to remove trash content.
Bill to ban trash streamers contributed to the State Duma on December 8. According to the document, the “distribution of photographic and video materials depicting illegal acts committed with cruelty” and their consequences, as well as calls for the commission of such acts will be prohibited.
