— Anastasia, tell me, how is your birthday girl doing now? What is her progress?

— Ariadne is a very talented girl. I myself learned French 4 years ago with a private teacher, while studying at a lyceum and studying English. She participated in show programs and wrote more than 150 poems in Russian, English and French. She paints beautiful pictures. One of them, “Rendezvous,” is in my living room on the piano that Kolya Baskov gave me. She is a very interesting person, she entered the Faculty of Philology. Last year she wanted to study at the Sorbonne. I, of course, will accept any choice my daughter makes, but I would like her to study in Russia. Although I don’t force my opinion on her. She has a loved one, she is a grown girl. At her age, I was already a prima ballerina of the Mariinsky Theater, and I know that I am an example for my daughter of how to be a strong and free, independent person. I have so little doubt about my daughter’s personal qualities. She took all the best from me.

— How will she celebrate her coming of age?

“In general, in recent years she always celebrates birthdays on her own. Those birthday parties that I attended when she was still a child and teenager, I, of course, organized them myself. Her dad hasn’t attended any of her birthdays for seven years. My friends came. Kolya Baskov paid more attention to Arisha than her own dad, that was true. But when Arisha became older, she already had a youth party, I didn’t even interfere there.

— What will you give your daughter?

“Of course, I’ve already prepared a gift for her—a set of jewelry.” And I will definitely give it to her where she will celebrate. I know how to make surprises, and I will definitely make sure that this is the most unexpected gift for her.

— So, you won’t celebrate with your daughter?

– Now that the child has already become such an adult, the appearance of parents is not always a pleasant surprise for children. So I’ll just give her a sign, and I’ll do it very subtly and competently.
