Volleyball players from Sakhalin lost to rivals from Cherepovets at the Russian Championship

The Sakhalin team played with SSHOR-Severnyaka from Cherepovets in the second round of the Russian volleyball championship among first league teams, which started in Ivanovo. The meeting ended in the defeat of the island athletes with a score of 2:3, the regional Ministry of Sports reported.
In the second round of the competition, “Shuyanochka” (Ivanovo), “Secondary School No. 1” (Syktyvkar), “SSHOR-Severyanka” (Cherepovets) and “Sakhalin” (Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk) performed.
On the first day of play, “Shuyanochka” lost to “Secondary School No. 1” with a score of 0:3 (20:25, 24:26, 26:28). “Sakhalin”, which included pupils of the volleyball sports school, competed with “SSHOR-Severnyaka”. The teams took turns winning games, but in the tiebreaker the athletes from Cherepovets won. Sakhalin lost to them with a score of 2:3 (25:20; 16:25; 25:22; 21:25; 10:15).
Island volleyball players will play two more matches at the tournament, which will take place on November 19. At midnight Sakhalin time their meeting with “Shuyanochka” starts, at 18:00 the game with “SSH No. 1” will begin.
Previously “MK on Sakhalin” wrote, that in the third round of the Russian Volleyball Championship among women’s teams of the major league “A”, “Sakhalin” defeated the Moscow “MVA”. The game took place on the penultimate day of the tournament in Kaliningrad.
