A metropolitan manufacturer has developed an automated laser welding system. It is used in the assembly of the steering of machines.

“Laser technologies are widely used in various industries: from the production of medical devices to the automotive industry. Moscow enterprises offer a wide range of modern, high-tech domestic solutions,” said Vladislav Ovchinsky, head of the Moscow Investment and Industrial Policy Department.

The Head of the Department cited the city company Pokkels as an example. She developed an automated welding system. The novelty should simplify the installation of the magnetic circuit and the torque sensor to the electric power steering of cars. At the same time, the development does not require stopping the production line. This will reduce installation time and labor costs. Production volumes will increase to 80 units per hour. The new system already has customers, for example, one of the leading manufacturers of electronic automotive components.

According to Evgeny Klyuchnikov, Development Director of the company, the developed system and embedded software allow welding in semi-automatic mode. The operator only installs the workpiece and connects it to the system. All other work goes according to the given program automatically.

Note that earlier such installation was carried out manually using glue. Welding elements is much more reliable and efficient than gluing.
