Vladislav Ovchinsky: Moscow began to produce equipment for the control of radioactive contamination

Equipment for the control of alpha radiation, assembled entirely on domestic components, began to produce NPP Doza.
“Today, Moscow factories are increasingly choosing domestic components and raw materials for production. This provides a guarantee of stable supplies and high quality of manufactured goods. Thus, the Doza Research and Production Enterprise in the capital has created an alpha radiation detection unit that has a high sensitivity and is smaller in size and weight than traditionally used units,” said Vladislav Ovchinsky, head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.
Russian components included in the development made it possible to launch serial production in a short time, Ovchinsky added. The NPP will produce about a dozen different installations and measuring instruments for monitoring the contamination of the surface of the hands, clothing and footwear of personnel with radioactive elements. Such equipment is needed at industrial sites, enterprises of the nuclear industry and in nuclear medicine.
The device has audio and visual prompts. In addition, the equipment has a self-diagnosis system. In case of malfunction or contamination of the detectors, it will warn the user.
According to the commercial director of the enterprise Alexey Andreev, the assessment of surface contamination is one of the most important tasks of radiation monitoring in all areas of activity related to the use of ionizing radiation.
