Residents of Voronezh and Moscow distinguished themselves in the competition.
Last Saturday, September 9, the regional center hosted a traditional competition – the Golden Gate Half Marathon. The event is being held in Vladimir for the seventh time, and it has long gone beyond the region. They even want to add the sporting event to the calendar of the main athletics competitions in the Russian Federation.
This time, residents of 110 cities from 31 regions of the country took part in the half marathon – almost 2 thousand people in total.
The absolute winner of the 21.1 km distance among men is marathon runner from Voronezh Alexey Popov. And among the fairer sex, Muscovite Yulia Konyakina finished first.
For first place, the winners received 40 thousand rubles. Valuable gifts were also prepared for the winners.
The youngest participant in the half marathon was 3-year-old Alexandra Barovykh – she will turn 4 years old only in October. This was her first start. The most experienced marathon runner was 84-year-old Viktor Bubnov, who is a frequent guest and active participant in all local sporting events.
