Vladimir Putin called Eduard Sagalaev a legend of Russian journalism

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent condolences to the family of journalist Eduard Sagalaev, who died May 13 at the age of 77. The telegram of the Russian President has been published on website Kremlin.
“Eduard Sagalaev was a legend and a true coryphaeus of Russian television journalism, a creative, talented person open to communication. He always sincerely cared for the cause, worked enthusiastically, with full dedication, served as an example of the highest professionalism, loyalty to his vocation, ”Vladimir Putin said in a telegram.
Eduard Sagalaev was the president of the National Association of Broadcasters for almost 30 years. He participated in the creation of the programs “Look” (1987-2001) and “12th Floor” (1985-1987). From 1984 to 1988, he served as editor-in-chief of the youth editorial office of Central Television.
Mr. Sagalaev was awarded the Russian Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” IV and III degrees. In 2018, he was awarded the title of Honored Journalist of Russia.
