Russian social network VKontakte announced a global update of the service, the first step of which will be a new news feed with a built-in hiding of the authorship of likes. The updated feed has already become available to some users as part of testing, in general, new features will become available to all users within a few months.
The News Feed has received an updated design with a focus on brightness and fascination, as well as minimalism and simplification of the interface. Several options for arranging content in posts for different screen sizes of smartphones will be available. Short posts will be displayed directly in the feed, while long ones will be expanded by touching the screen.
Community posts made by a specific individual will display the author’s photo to highlight user participation. Also, now you can put likes by double-tapping the screen in any part of the post, when you scroll the feed under the posts, it will not be displayed which of your friends reacted to this or that publication. “VKontakte” suggests that this will allow the authors to get a greater response from the audience.
