State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov believes that federal legislation needs to add criminal liability for inducing a woman to terminate a pregnancy for non-medical reasons.
– I often receive letters and messages in which women tell how a doctor, husband, cohabitant or some other third party literally persuades them to have an abortion. The most disgusting thing is not for any medical reasons, but for one’s own conclusions, out of fear, out of laziness,” State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov tells MK. – For relatives, for example, this could be some kind of fine as an administrative measure. Well, officials, doctors, officials who do this should be subject to criminal punishment.
Vitaly Milonov emphasizes that he intends to raise a discussion about the writing and adoption of this bill at the next meeting of the relevant State Duma Committee on Women and Family Affairs.
