Most often, crimes in the Russian capital, according to legal statistics, are committed by visitors from other regions aged 30 to 49 years, who do not have a permanent source of income.
The capital’s prosecutor’s office said that in Moscow in 2023, 33,123 persons who committed crimes were identified. “Of these, more than half (55.8%) are not residents of the capital,” the supervisory agency clarified.
Men are four times more likely to commit crimes than women (83.2% and 16.8%, respectively). The bulk of crimes – 62.8% – are committed by persons without a permanent source of income – 20,821.
13.4% of persons were under the influence of alcohol when committing crimes, 1.2% were under the influence of drugs.
37.9% had previously committed crimes.
