Scientific Director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand said that warm and sunny weather is expected in the capital region over the weekend with temperatures up to 26 degrees Celsius, which is 7-8 degrees above normal. He warned that due to the abnormal autumn weather there is a risk of fires.
According to the forecaster, the current situation is due to the flow of dry and hot air from the north of the Arctic. In addition, as the specialist noted, the weather is now partly cloudy, and the sun will have a significant influence on the temperature increase.
Vilfand indicated that the minimum nighttime temperatures in Moscow and the region will vary from 11 to 13 degrees Celsius, and during the day – from 23 to 26 degrees Celsius. The weather forecaster added that the weather “simply confused the climate and forgot it existed.” He also noted that the temperature background on the day of the autumn equinox will be higher than on the day of the summer solstice, when solar energy is at its highest.
