Victory Parade canceled in Crimea

The Crimean authorities have decided to cancel this year’s festive parade, demonstrations and marches on May 9, said the head of the region Sergey Aksyonov. According to him, this decision is due to security considerations.
“Despite the cancellation of festive events, our veterans will not be left without attention. Representatives of local authorities will definitely visit them and congratulate them on Victory Day, ”Aksenov wrote in his Telegram channel.
The head of Crimea also noted that the authorities of Sevastopol decided to do the same, but then clarifiedthat these measures apply only to the republic.
Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev, in turn, declaredthat the decision to cancel the military parade on May 9 in the hero city has not been made at the moment. Consultations are ongoing with the Ministry of Defense on its implementation.
Recall that earlier the victory parades were canceled in the Kursk and Belgorod regions bordering Ukraine.
