Vice-speakers of the State Duma and leaders of Duma factions will soon begin to drive exclusively Aurus cars – this is the car that is now assigned to State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin, they report “Vedomosti” citing sources in the lower house of parliament. The heads of the committees can be provided with Lada Aura cars.

It is noted that currently Genesis is assigned to the State Duma vice-speakers and faction leaders, and BMW and Genesis are assigned to the heads of committees. According to Vedomosti, the replacement of cars of the State Duma management will take place during 2024.

In addition, the State Duma has already received 33 Lada Vesta cars, which ordinary parliamentarians will have to switch to this year. Previously, the “acceleration” cars that transported ordinary deputies were Ford Mondeo and Hyundai.

Previously, the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education, Yana Lantratova reported, that from January 1, 2024, the State Duma stopped paying deputies for gasoline if they do not switch to domestically produced cars. According to her, parliamentarians should soon switch to Lada, UAZ, Aurus, Evolute, Moskvich, and Haval cars.

September 18, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin declared, that such a measure “will help the development of the Russian automobile industry”, and “budget funds will remain in the country.” Prior to this, in August, President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with the head of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, said that “all this bureaucracy” should strive to develop domestic brands.
