Vice Mayor Efimov: turnover of SMEs in the capital increased by 33% in 8 months

The turnover of SMEs in Moscow for 8 months of the year amounted to 2.55 trillion rubles, which is 33% more than the same period last year.
“SMEs play a significant role in the economy of the capital, replacing large retailers that have left our market in a number of industries, offering new products and services, and also creating jobs. The share of SMEs in the total turnover of trade and services in August this year reached 23.5%,” said Vladimir Yefimov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations.
Since the beginning of the year, SMEs have shown a monthly increase in revenue by an average of 30% compared to the same months last year. In August, their sales amounted to 341.7 billion rubles, and the peak of turnover was in June – 362.3 billion rubles.
The leader in terms of turnover is trade, in which SMEs, which account for 36% of revenue, earned 913 billion rubles in 8 months, which is 28.7% more than in the same period of 2021. Hotels and catering establishments received 287.3 billion rubles, exceeding last year’s figures by 66.2%.
In the field of culture and sports, the turnover of SMEs increased by 2.1 times – up to 87.6 billion rubles. A two-fold increase was shown by educational organizations that earned 30.3 billion rubles. Transport and logistics companies increased turnover by 62.1% to RUB 104.8 billion.
Companies in the construction industry received 61.9 billion rubles, beauty salons – 42.8 billion rubles, which is 53 and 39.8% more than last year, respectively.
