Pharmaceuticals, electric vehicles and photonics – three high-tech cross-industry clusters were created last year in Moscow.
“The clusters will bring together metropolitan companies and scientific and technical organizations for joint development, creation of innovative enterprises and the formation of full-fledged production chains in the field of photonics, electric vehicles and pharmaceuticals. Today, about 100 organizations have joined the associations. Half of them are located on the territory of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ,” said Vladimir Yefimov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations.
An ecosystem for the design, production and implementation of photonic integrated circuits will be created in the photonics cluster. It will include design centers, test labs and enterprises. And in the electric vehicle cluster, new technologies will be developed, mass production of passenger electric vehicles, electric trucks and electric buses will be set up.
“The pharmaceutical cluster has already included 9 enterprises that develop and produce innovative medicines. It is planned that in the coming years several more companies will join the association, at the moment they are completing the construction of drug production facilities in the Technopolis Moscow SEZ,” said Vladislav Ovchinsky, Head of the Investment and Industrial Policy Department.
