He slandered the co-owners of a large company

The Khoroshevsky Court of Moscow issued a verdict in one of the scandalous cases related to the Merlion company. Recall that a whole group of founders of the IT giant was accused of attempting to assassinate the former general director of the company Vyacheslav Simonenko – allegedly his house was set on fire. Later, however, the “perpetrator” of the attack confessed to staging the crime at the direction of Symonenko himself. He was sent to jail on Thursday.

As it became known to MK, Grigory Zherenov was in the dock. Previously, he served in the police, then he was fired for a disciplinary offense and went to fight in the Donbass. For some time, the man served in the Pyatnashki division of the DPR guard, was seriously injured, lost part of his leg and returned to the Moscow region. Since then, Zherenov was interrupted by odd jobs. Apparently, the lack of money made him agree to the proposal to slander the top manager of the company, Boris Levin, and several other co-founders.

The veteran came to law enforcement agencies and stated that he tried to kill the head of Merlion, for which he set fire to his house in the fall of 2015. Moreover, the crime was committed by order of Levin and accomplices. The organizers and perpetrators of the attack were arrested. However, after some time, unexpected facts were revealed – Zherenov said that he did not know anything about arson, at the time of the crime (if it existed at all) he was in the Donbass, and he took the blame at the request of … Simonenko. The purpose of such a scam was to extort money from those arrested in exchange for freedom. Moreover, Zherenov was allegedly offered to commit similar provocations against other businessmen, but he refused.

As a result, the court sentenced Zherenov for complicity in falsifying evidence to 2.5 years in prison. The investigation into the main case is still ongoing.
