Venus Williams eliminated in the first round

Venus Williams, double winner of the event in 2000 and 2001, was eliminated in the first round of the US Open, beaten 6-1, 7-6 (7/5) by Belgian Alison Van Uytvanck (43rd), Tuesday At New York.
