Vedomosti: United Russia will exclude from among its supporters those who disagree with the special operation

United Russia is going to exclude opponents of the military operation in Ukraine from among its supporters and add its supporters. They will be calculated by artificial intelligence based on likes, subscriptions and other activity in social networks. This was reported Vedomosti with reference to sources.

According to the publication, the verification of supporters takes place mainly in the regions. In regions where United Russia has performed poorly in elections or where “opposition party representatives are in charge,” sources say, the support base is being built almost anew.

The verification is carried out by artificial intelligence and special algorithms. They analyze the activity of people in social networks (likes, subscriptions, public statements) and compare it with the base of United Russia supporters. “If someone spoke out against the special operation from the supporters of the party and the algorithm found him, and then another check confirmed his views, then he was excluded from our database. Both negative and positive actions are included in the verification algorithms. Therefore, we also identify supporters of the military special operation, ”said one of the Vedomosti sources.

According to the newspaper, during the checks, at some point, the base of supporters was reduced from 25 million to 9 million people. By January 2023, it is about 13 million people.

“United Russia” began to purge the base of supporters after the elections to the State Duma in 2021. The lists are updated for the 2023 regional elections and the 2024 presidential elections. According to the party’s plans, there should be about 30 million people in the base of supporters.
