Valieva was expelled from the Russian national team

The Russian Ministry of Sports excluded figure skater Kamila Valieva from the list of candidates for the national team after her disqualification for violating anti-doping rules. This is stated in the department’s document.
It is noted that this was done in accordance with the rules of the ministry.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on January 29 announced a four-year ban for the 17-year-old athlete for violating anti-doping rules. All her results since December 25, 2021, when the positive test was taken, have been cancelled. Valieva will be able to return to competition from December 24, 2025.
Valieva previously stated that she never intentionally doped and always tried to follow the rules.
