Muscovite Valeria Bashkirova, who committed one of the most resonant accidents in recent years, was released on parole. The Skopinsky court considered that she had spent enough time behind bars.

Recall that a terrible accident occurred on July 16, 2021 at a pedestrian crossing in Solntsevo. A student (at that time she was 18 years old) Valeria Bashkirova, driving a Mazda, knocked down three children at the crossing, crossing the road along a zebra with their mother and grandmother. Two babies have died. The court immediately arrested the girl, and she spent eight months in jail. Bashkirova fully admitted her guilt and repented. According to her, she was driving to her parents, and fell asleep at the wheel. In the pre-trial detention center, she needed serious help from psychologists. The court sentenced her to 5 years in a colony-settlement.

Bashkirova served her sentence in the Ryazan region. It is curious that the Federal Penitentiary Service of the region published many times photographs where Valeria, along with other convicted women, participates in various events. In one case, they decorated the colony and dyed eggs for Easter, in another they participated in a concert at the open day of the colony-settlement, in the third they read poetry in honor of Cosmonautics Day. Behind bars, the ex-student was engaged in creativity (mostly drawing). In 2023, the court replaced the unserved part of her sentence with forced labor. The girl lived in a correctional center, and worked at a meat processing plant. And on August 2, the court released her on parole. On August 18, this decision entered into force, and she went home. Now Valeria, according to friends, is recovering. After the rest, she plans to continue her studies.

Interestingly, there were and are many haters on social networks who regularly write about Bashkirova and wish for trouble. But she also has her own support group. People who belong to such a group helped with advice and sent books to the colony. They believe that the girl already has to “live with what happened.”
