American corporation Google since August 2 provided Russians new ways to pay for purchases in the Google Play app store. The Google Play internal payment system is still not working due to sanctions.
In July, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) issued a warning to Google in connection with “abuse of dominant position” and decided to provide an opportunity to pay for purchases on Google Play using alternative methods within a month. Otherwise, the FAS would have opened a case on violation of antitrust laws.
March 10 for Russians restricted payments in Google Play and the Apple Store, but left the possibility of installing free applications or updating already purchased ones. iOS still has a way to pay for purchases using a mobile phone bill.
