USE-2023 results announced: “Monkeys made their way to the exam site”

The current USE, according to officials, was even calmer this year than before. As a result, 7084 100 points and 456 200 points were accumulated throughout the country. There were 17 300 points (one more than in 2022). At the same time, the number of 100-point students in two subjects – specialized mathematics and history – has noticeably decreased, but the number of 100-point students and high-pointers in all other subjects has grown.

According to Rosobrnadzor, the average test score has decreased in a number of subjects: these are specialized mathematics, history, social studies, English and computer science. He grew up only in chemistry and literature. The highest average score was noted in the Russian language – 68.43 points. The lowest – in biology: 50.87 points. The head of Rosobrnadzor, Anzor Muzaev, concluded that “we are changing the content of KIM (examination tasks. – Auth.) in connection with the transition to new standards, but we are gradually changing them so that this is not a shock for teachers and graduates.”

Muzaev also said that in connection with the SVO and the emergence of four new territories, the USE campaign was adjusted. The “new Russians” got the right to choose, because in two subjects, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, children were taught “not according to our standards.” The same right of choice was given to graduates in the border areas. At the same time, there were many who wanted to take the exam even there. “They understand that those who pass the USE have more opportunities,” the head of the department noted.

This year, 969 violators were expelled from the USE (327 of them for using mobile phones, 390 for cheat sheets). The neural network helps to identify violators, although the final decision on the removal of a graduate is made by a person after viewing the label of the neural network (when she notices a cheat sheet or a phone). In addition, handwriting analysis is ongoing. This year, eight works were identified, the handwriting in which differs from the handwriting in the forms of the final essay, they will be studied.

The head of Rosobrnadzor specified that “since 2013, the unified state exam has changed a lot, all constructive comments have been eliminated.” And about the idea of ​​canceling the Unified State Exam, which is periodically voiced in society, he added: “Of course, we don’t want stress, but the fact is that even if a new form of the exam comes, it will also cause everyone to complain.” “All the leading countries that have a high level of education (both friendly and unfriendly) operate in this format,” he added. – At the same time, we do not copy exams, we have our own approach. For example, there is no appeal in any country in the world. And in China, for example, there are no spare days, if you couldn’t come, come back in a year.”

And the director of the Federal Institute of Pedagogical Measurements, Oksana Reshetnikova, assured that in recent years, when compiling assignments, they are moving away “from checking memory, memorized facts, topics, dates, etc. to build up the activity component”. That is, KIM provides for avoiding templates in responses.

Reshetnikova, in particular, noted that social science is the most numerous and most diverse subject in terms of participants, since it contains the basics of law, economics, philosophy, and other areas that are in demand by a variety of universities. There are slightly more hundred points in this subject than last year, and more than 42% of the guys scored from 60 to 100, which gives them the opportunity to apply for admission to the desired specialty. She added that “this year’s graduates are better versed in the rights and freedoms of man and citizen.”

As for history (where the number of high-scorers has decreased), according to Reshetnikova, some changes have been made to the examination paper model. For example, tasks of a basic level of complexity are included with a short answer to test knowledge of the facts of the Great Patriotic War and a high level of complexity – to test the ability to compare events and processes from different eras. “Work time increased from 180 to 210 minutes; The USE is more aimed at testing the knowledge of the military victories of our country and the Second World War. It is noted that new tasks for working with images dedicated to the Second World War caused difficulties – graduates coped worse than predicted. In this regard, teachers will be given recommendations.

The head of Rosobrnadzor, by the way, does not see any danger in the possible spread in the future of individual unscrupulous students passing exams with the help of AI (artificial intelligence): well, a graduate will pass exams with his help, and then he will come to the employer, and this will all be over for him. “We are working in the direction so that the guys have an awareness of what they need knowledge for.”

And the deputy head of Rosobrnadzor, Igor Kruglinsky, spoke about a funny case in the PES abroad – at the school at the Russian Embassy in Ethiopia: “Colleagues came the day before to check the technical readiness of the exam and found a flock of monkeys in the office, who studied printers and other equipment with great interest. Colleagues joked among themselves that the monkeys came to look for KIMS to help the losers cheat.
