A draft resolution condemning the referendums held in the Donbass, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions was submitted to the vote of the UN Security Council by a US delegation.

The bill condemns voting. However, Russia has a veto power in the UN Security Council, which it can use. China also has the right of veto among non-Western countries.

Recall that on September 23-27, 2022, in the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, nationwide referendums were held on the issue of joining the Russian Federation. By a majority of votes, a decision was made on the entry of the republics and regions into Russia.

Today, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin signed agreements on the entry of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions into the Russian Federation.
