US Senator Graham: the use of nuclear weapons in Ukraine will be considered an attack on NATO

American Republican politician Lindsey Graham expressed fears about the possible use of nuclear weapons by Russia on the territory of Ukraine and warned that such a move would be perceived as an attack on NATO. In a message posted on Twitter, he addressed the Russian leadership, emphasizing the need to understand the consequences of such actions.
Graham explained his point of view by the fact that Ukraine is located in close proximity to the territory of the alliance, and any use of nuclear weapons on its territory will inevitably affect the interests and security of NATO countries.
Earlier, US national security adviser Jake Sullivan condemned Medvedev’s statements about the possibility of Russia using nuclear weapons against Ukraine in the event of a successful counteroffensive. He called such statements “reckless and irresponsible” and stressed that the use of nuclear weapons in any part of the world would lead to catastrophic consequences for the entire world community.
In turn, Oleg Osipov, Assistant Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, recalled the terrible consequences of the US atomic bombings in Japan, when hundreds of thousands of people died. He noted that the US has no moral right to criticize other countries, given its own history of using nuclear weapons.
