US expands personal sanctions against Russia

The US Treasury has expanded personal sanctions against Russian citizens, should from a press release posted on the agency’s website.

The Ministry of Finance has tightened sanctions against the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, his daughters Aishat and Khadizhat and his wife Medzhi Kadyrova. In addition, Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the military-civilian administration of the Zaporizhzhya region, Maxim Oreshkin, the Russian presidential aide, Maria Lvovoy-Belova, the children’s ombudsman, Vladimir Komlev, the head of the National Payment Card System (NSPK), and Sergey Bulgakov, deputy prosecutor of the Republic of Crimea, were also sanctioned.

Separately, the US Treasury promised to impose sanctions for supporting the Mir payment system outside of Russia. In total, 44 citizens of the country and 32 organizations fell under the sanctions.

Under blocking sanctions, the athlete Alina Kabaeva, co-owner of “Phosagro» Andrey Guryev Sr. and his son Andrey Guryev Jr., former owner of EuroChem Andrey Melnichenko, co-owner of Sheremetyevo Alexander Ponomarenko and head of PJSC «Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works» (MMK) Victor Rashnikov. The list also included Konstantin Ivashchenko, Natalya Popova, Dmitry Pumpyansky, Vladimir Saldo, Kirill Stremousov, Anton Urusov and Sergey Eliseev.
