US belatedly said goodbye to mandatory coronavirus vaccinations

Less than two years have passed since the invention of the “saving panacea” for COVID-19 in the form of mandatory vaccination of everyone and everything. Most countries have abandoned this strategy, and for the past year, vaccinations have been given by those who simply enjoy doing them or who, due to their vulnerable state, cannot say no, such as foreigners arriving in the United States. If you want to the island of Freedom – turn your shoulder.

Now that bastion has fallen.

Effective May 12, the White House lifted the mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirement for foreign tourists arriving in the country. The health emergency will be considered over.

I would not say that this is the final happy ending. Because scandals and lawsuits against vaccine manufacturers who have earned many billions on the desire of people to protect themselves and loved ones in the era of a pandemic (which, as it turned out, was not even officially announced by WHO), albeit by neglecting clinical trial protocols, as well as violation of civil the rights of the unvaccinated continue to flare up around the world. The United States is the first to be affected.

There is freedom of speech and all that, so the number of possible victims of side effects after vaccination and boosters cannot be hidden. Along the way, rather suspicious things related to the origin of the virus itself begin to emerge.

So, the other day, the Attorney General of Texas announced an investigation into the actions of pharmaceutical companies that produced all three approved vaccines against coronavirus for the participation of these companies in financing long-standing work in Wuhan on the study of all coronaviruses.

According to the canonical version, it was from this Chinese city that the march of COVID-19 around the world began. Although, as it turned out later, samples of the virus were found in the wastewater of some European cities back in 2019.

Require from foreigners entering the country a certificate of full vaccination against COVID-19 in the United States began in November 2021. Only certificates of vaccinations approved by the national medical regulator or WHO were taken into account. It was announced that blanket vaccination for international travelers could slow the spread of new coronavirus variants and give the health system time to effectively manage access to care in the event of an increase in infections and hospitalizations, as well as reduce the number of difficult cases and deaths.

One of the most cited scientists of the 21st century, an epidemiologist and statistician, a specialist in evidence-based medicine, Professor John Ioannidis, has issued directly opposite conclusions on this topic in the form of a scientific work. In general, they can be formulated in one sentence: the lethality of coronavirus has always been in the range of seasonal flu, but it depended on many social causes that had nothing to do with medicine.

In more detail, mortality during a pandemic, stratified by five age categories, is inversely correlated with GDP per capita and the proportion of the population living in poverty.

And among the most developed countries, excess mortality is higher, the stricter the covid restrictions were and the more strongly vaccinations and boosters were promoted.

So perhaps the United States could have had 1.5 million fewer deaths if they had chosen Sweden’s more liberal strategy in this regard.

But better late than never. There is also a simpler and more logical explanation for the lifting of the latest vaccination restrictions: in the near future, the presidential campaign will start in the United States, and although Biden is known as a big supporter of the strictest measures to contain the pandemic at any cost, up to the destruction of America’s basic principles of individual freedom, this strategy is no longer in trend. Therefore, he willy-nilly have to play on another field. And recognize that the coronavirus is defeated. On April 10, the President of the United States lifted the state of emergency in the country, introduced in 2020 due to COVID-19. By the way, one of the last among the states.

And on the night of May 11-12, “the health emergency related to COVID-19 will end.”

Vaccination advocates believe that 270 million vaccinated Americans have beaten the coronavirus (some have done it four times!). And all sorts of minor annoyances – like broken test protocols and side effects – are a small price to pay for this.

Anti-vaccination counters that the 1919-1921 Spanish flu epidemic, with much higher mortality, also ended three years later. This is the standard term for a new ARVI, and vaccinations have nothing to do with it.

In Russia, there is no special opinion on this matter. No one is forcing anyone to get vaccinated, but the results of clinical trials, as well as the number of those who suffered from them, are not made public.
