The United States banned the sale of telecom equipment to Huawei, ZTE and three other Chinese companies, writes Bloomberg.
The US Federal Communications Commission has banned the import and sale of telecommunications equipment by certain companies in the country. Bloomberg listed them: Huawei Technologies, ZTE Corporation, Hytera Communications, Dahua Technology, Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology.
The Fed believes that the products of these companies carry risks associated with the reliability of data storage. In addition, according to the regulator, the listed companies pose a threat to national security.
Most of all, according to Bloomberg, Dahua and Hikvision may suffer from the ban. The cameras of these companies were often installed in government agencies. In addition, some agencies, including the US police, make extensive use of Hytera portable radios, now banned.
