American edition of Stars and Stripes reportsthat the US Navy aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower was spotted in the Mediterranean on Saturday after passing through the Strait of Gibraltar.
The ship’s arrival in the Mediterranean was reportedly confirmed by open intelligence analysts and shipping observers. US authorities have not yet commented.
Earlier, the United States announced the dispatch of carrier strike groups Dwight Eisenhower and USS Gerald R. Ford to the eastern part of the Mediterranean waters.
