“Uralmash” won the first “Ural derby” within the United League

The Ekaterinburg basketball club “Uralmash” beat Perm “Parma” as part of the regular championship of the United League.

The meeting between the Ekaterinburg and Perm clubs has already received the name “Ural derby”, although the teams had not previously met in official matches. In addition to the geographical proximity, the figure of the head coach of Parma adds to the principle of the confrontation. In 2022, Evgeniy Pashutin coached Uralmash for six months, and under his leadership, the factory workers set a Super League record, winning all 23 remaining matches and becoming tournament winners.

The course of the meeting justified the loud sign “Ural derby”. The game turned out to be tense. The first quarter ended with a lead of only one point in favor of the hosts, and the teams went into the long break with a difference of four points in favor of Uralmash. The third quarter passed with varying degrees of success, but in the end the “factory team” increased their lead by another point – 57:62.

At the beginning of the final period of the match, Uralmash increased its advantage to +10 for the first time. Parma quickly reduced it to four points, but in the remaining time they failed to get any closer. The final siren recorded the score 78:74 in favor of Milos Pavicevic’s team.

After the victory in Perm, Uralmash shares 7-8 with Zenit St. Petersburg. The next meeting of the “orange-black-greens” will be held in Nizhny Novgorod on October 29 against Pari-NN.
