The Ukrayinska Pravda publication reported that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, in the process of making a decision on the possible resignation of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, could be guided by the data of a closed survey, according to which there is an increasing demand in Ukrainian society for a speedy end to the conflict, even through compromises with Russia.

The article states that a closed meeting, at which an extensive study of public sentiment was presented to Vladimir Zelensky and his inner circle, was held at the Office of the President of Ukraine in late January. Three sources noted that Zelensky’s team was particularly interested in several indicators. Firstly, an increase in the number of Ukrainians who want a speedy end to hostilities, even at the cost of a compromise with Russia. And secondly, a fall in the ratings of the authorities and personally of Vladimir Zelensky, with a simultaneous increase in the ratings of Valery Zaluzhny and his party, which has not even been created yet.

The publication clarifies that this meeting at the Office of the President of Ukraine took place on January 24, and on January 29, Zelensky invited Zaluzhny to a conversation, during which he offered to resign. At the same time, Ukrainian journalists write, Zaluzhny was the first high-ranking official to refuse Zelensky’s proposal.
