Unexpected nuances have appeared in the story of a 6-year-old girl beaten half to death in a foster family.

On September 25, MK wrote about the terrible story of abuse of children in the foster family of D. The couple settled in the village of Mogochino, Tomsk region, took custody of several young children – first two, then four more. And in September of this year, 6-year-old Polina was taken away by ambulance in critical condition. The child is still in a coma. But she found an aunt who really wants to adopt the unfortunate girl.

On August 30, 2023, a girl from the foster family D. was admitted to the Tomsk Regional Clinical Hospital in a coma. The older foster children said that the little girl was beaten for disobedience. Even more terrible details emerged. Polina was hearing impaired and did not speak. The foster mother decided to treat her in a special way: she put a kitchen spatula in her mouth and twisted it until she bled and held her breath. The child was bent to an unnatural state, calling it a massage. And the most terrible thing is that the “demon of drunkenness” was cast out of her. Catherine told her neighbors that the children’s mother was an alcoholic, so the difficult legacy must be eradicated through exorcism.

It was not only the deaf-mute girl who was subjected to executions. According to the older children, their parents asked them to go upstairs, and at that time they locked themselves in the bathroom with Polina’s brother. His crying could be heard from there. The solitudes were long, 40 minutes each. According to the children, the boy came out of the bathroom “with a blue head.”

A publication in MK about a beaten child raised a wave of indignation in society. A group of caring people created a telegram group to help the girl. It included professional lawyers, public figures and representatives of social services. A real special operation to save the children began, during which amazing things were revealed.

Irina, the group’s lawyer, says:

– As it turned out, all four of the last adopted children were from the same family: they were siblings. The search for the blood parents began, we collected all the available information about refusals or seizures, and finally found the children’s natural father. We phoned him, he seemed to us a depressed, grief-stricken man. He said that he and his wife got married out of great love, they wanted to have a big and friendly family. All children were welcome and loved. But in December 2021, the wife, two months after the birth of her last child, fell ill with coronavirus. The birth was difficult, the body was very weakened, and the woman died.

The man was left alone with four young children of the same age. The older twins are 3 years old, the middle one is one year old, the youngest one is 2 months old. None of my relatives. In Komsomolsk-on-Amur, a man worked on a rotational basis and left home for a long time.

– The children’s father says that he did not want to give up the children, but local guardianship began to put pressure. You can’t handle it, it will be better in the shelter. And he refused,” said group activists.

The father said that he has a sister. She lives even further east – in the village of Ayan, Khabarovsk Territory. The woman knew about the tragedy in her brother’s family and wanted to take custody of the children, but she was not given the opportunity to do so.

– A strange situation happened here. District guardianship, whether inadvertently or intentionally, violated the rules for appointing guardianship, says the group’s lawyer. – There is a law according to which guardianship is primarily issued to relatives. Moreover, this is done in an accelerated manner. To register, you only need three documents: a passport, a housing survey report and SNILS. All other procedures, such as guardian schools and psychological examinations, for those wishing to take guardianship of blood relatives take place later. But in this case, the woman was sent “along the long way.” For example, it was necessary to go through guardianship school. And this is 40 academic hours. To do this, you need to somehow take time off from work, set aside time…

When the kids’ aunt went through all the stages, she was told that the children had already been placed in a foster family. And then their traces were lost. Guardianship specialists referred to the “secrecy of guardianship.” Four children disappeared for their own aunt and father.

… Many media outlets wrote about the tragedy with Polina, but the children’s own aunt in the distant village did not know about it. The internet in the village is poor, and she doesn’t read newspapers. Social activists told her about her nephews. The woman immediately said: I will adopt immediately.

– She was just in shock. How can you mock a disabled girl like that? At first she was silent for a long time, and then began to cry. “You can’t imagine how close she took our conversation to heart,” say representatives of the group.

My aunt has two children of her own. But her brother’s children, especially those who survived bullying, will be a long-awaited addition to her family, social activists are sure. But to their surprise, they learned that children removed from D.’s family were again offered to be taken into custody on one of the specialized websites. Now they are in a shelter in Tomsk. In a week, my aunt will fly there, where she will begin the adoption procedure.

“She would have flown immediately,” group activists say. – But first, we need to find money for a plane and accommodation in Tomsk – going through the authorities will take a lot of time. And, secondly, from the village to the mainland – only by plane. It flies once a week, and tickets must be purchased several months in advance. Now we are trying to get reserve tickets through our resources. We hope that the trip will take place.

According to information, the girl is still in serious condition.

And the adoptive mother is now in a pre-trial detention center. According to the press service of the regional prosecutor’s office, the woman was taken into custody until November 18, 2023. Currently, the Investigation Department of the Tomsk Region is investigating three criminal cases against the adoptive mother based on crimes under Articles 111, 117, and 156 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – causing grievous harm to health, torture and failure to fulfill duties in raising a minor.
