UNESCO denied the “confiscation” of the relics of saints from the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra

The Ukrainian Ministry of Culture called them “exhibits”

Today, with reference to the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, alarming information was made public about plans to export Christian valuables, including holy relics, from the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. Using the pretext of “rescuing from Russian strikes”, priceless Orthodox relics, supposedly under the auspices of UNESCO, are planned to be transferred to the museums of Germany, France, Italy and the Vatican.

The Ukrainian authorities, of course, immediately began to refute the information. UNESCO also disowned the dubious deal, saying that there were no negotiations with them on the transfer of shrines to Europe. However, the concrete facts at the disposal of MK indirectly confirm the validity of the conclusions made by the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation.

In particular, the inventory commission of the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture, which has been working for several weeks, came to the conclusion that the caves, in which the relics of Kyiv saints have been kept for centuries, require reconstruction. Where the costless Orthodox relics will be transported for the duration of the event, none of the officials has yet said.

From the point of view of officials from the Zelensky cage, the relics of the holy Pechersk elders are nothing more than ordinary museum exhibits, of which more than 800 copies were counted in the Lavra. At least, this is how the Minister of Culture and Information Policy Alexander Tkachenko described them. These “exhibits”, according to Tkachenko, “including the relics of the saints, were, so to speak, transferred to the use of the monks at one time.” The audit, according to the plan of the Ministry of Culture, was to establish how well they were preserved.

Commenting on the statement of the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, Tkachenko, in response to a direct question about the possibility of exporting the relics of the saints outside Ukraine, made a clumsy attempt to “wag his tail.” And he promised that supposedly none of the sacred values ​​would leave the territory of Ukraine.
