Unemployed Russians will be able to take short-term part-time jobs without losing unemployment benefits. This follows from the new version of the law “On Employment in the Russian Federation,” said Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection Elena Mukhtiyarova.

“The important point is that innovation appears; we have never had anything like this. While you are in a period of unemployment, you have the right to take on a short-term part-time job. If earlier you got some one-time jobs, then you were immediately taken off the register,” the official said at the round table of Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

According to the new version, Russians will be able to work for up to five working days on the basis of a GPC agreement, and employment services will not have the right to cancel benefits. In addition, according to the new edition, employment services will build an individual plan for each client related to his profile. From 2025, regional authorities must organize on-site work of employment services in areas without access to the Internet.

The draft of this law has already been adopted by the Federation Council. He clarifies the concepts of “employment”, “employed”, “job seekers”, “first time job seekers”; establishes a new procedure for obtaining unemployed status; and also obliges to annually index unemployment benefits to the level of inflation.
