On July 18, the UN Security Council will hold a meeting on artificial intelligence (AI) for the first time in its history. This was announced on Monday, July 3, by the Permanent Representative of Great Britain to the world organization Barbara Woodward.
The diplomat explained that the participants in the upcoming discussion seek to “encourage a multilateral approach in both managing the enormous opportunities and risks that AI brings to all of us.”
Earlier, the actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who played the main role in the film “Terminator”, said that the future of artificial intelligence, reflected in this film directed by James Cameron, has become a reality. Schwarzenegger noted that today many are afraid of what can lead to the development of artificial intelligence. He recalled that the film tells a story about machines that acquire their own consciousness and become dominant.
