The Ukrainian army servicemen who died during an award ceremony in the Zaporozhye region as a result of a Russian strike ignored almost all security measures. This statement was made by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov on his social network page.
“They actually gathered the fighters in the courtyard of the house to give awards. All the rules of camouflage were ignored,” Umerov wrote.
He also noted that there were over ten cars near the military awards ceremony, and at that time there was a Russian reconnaissance drone above them. At the same time, as the head of the Ukrainian ministry noted, the command knew about the appearance of the drone, but the commanders ignored it.
Earlier it was reported that in the Zaporozhye region, during the award ceremony, the 128th brigade was hit during formation. According to sources in The Washington Post, several high-ranking officers were also killed as a result of the strike.
