Ukraine will not be able to accumulate the required 1.8 million tons of coal by the beginning of winter. This was announced by member of the supervisory board of Ukrenergo Yuriy Boyko. According to him, the fuel shortage will be replenished by imported fuel from Poland and Kazakhstan.
“The situation with coal today looks like it was necessary to accumulate planned reserves… – 1.8 million tons of coal – by October 15th. This figure will not be achieved,” Boyko said.
He also emphasized that Kyiv will not be able to cover Ukraine’s balance sheet with resources from national miners and private coal miners in order to accumulate coal and reach planned targets.
