The situational crisis center of the Russian Foreign Ministry is working on the evacuation of Russians from the Middle East, the diplomatic ministry reported.
“The Department of the Situation and Crisis Center of the Russian Foreign Ministry, together with Russian foreign agencies in the Middle East region, are working on evacuation measures for Russian citizens and compatriots,” – it says in the message.
Previously center published a recommendation from the embassy, which called on Russians in Israel to stay in safe places and follow the instructions of the military, especially in the south of the country.
On the morning of October 7, Hamas began military operations against Israel. The IDF responded by launching Operation Iron Swords, and the Israeli government announced that the country had entered a state of war. Earlier today, the IDF announced the restoration of control over all populated areas of Israel and the transition to the phase of the complete destruction of Hamas.
According to Israeli media, more than 700 citizens of the country were killed as a result of the Hamas attack on Israel. In Palestine, more than 400 deaths were reported, with about 2,200 injured.
October 9, Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov today reportedthat the Russian Embassy in Israel has no information about the injured Russians. Diplomats are also working with the Palestinian authorities to clarify the fate of Russian citizens living in PNA territory.
