Ukrainian refugees in Germany throw away free food – media
Ukrainian refugees in Germany throw away untouched free food, Focus magazine reported.
As noted, the story took place in the German city of Gera, it was told by local residents and the owners of the catering enterprise of the Geraer Tafel chain.
“Cheese, salad, yoghurt, spices – impeccably packaged and edible food items from a catering establishment in Ger, Thuringia – ended up in a rubbish bin in mid-December, apparently deliberately thrown away,” the article says. It is also noted that the local population was shocked by this story. Thus, one of the local citizens, having discovered discarded food, tracked those who threw it away and found out that they were using a car with Ukrainian license plates.
It later turned out that a couple of Ukrainians regularly visited this cafe. The cafe director was outraged by the fact that Ukrainians throw away food, while many Germans need it. According to her, if Ukrainian citizens do not like food, they could simply return it or leave it on the table, but not throw away highly sought-after products.
As a result, Ukrainians were deprived of the right to eat in this cafe, and their food card has already been cancelled.
The Garaer Tafel catering network supplies more than five thousand people with food every month. After the outbreak of hostilities, this number increased sharply due to the arrival of Ukrainians.
