Edition Wales Online reported that a Ukrainian refugee complained about the language barrier in the UK, because of which she is experiencing “social death”.
According to the woman, she and her daughter moved to the United Kingdom in August. The woman entered into a so-called “sponsorship” agreement with one of the local residents as part of the “Houses for Ukraine” program.
In Cardiff, as the Ukrainian refugee specified, she had great difficulties in finding employment.
“At the moment I am going through the stage of social death. Language barriers nullify my skills, knowledge and experience. It turns out that in practice I can not apply my skills. Previously, I taught at the university and was a master of public administration,” the refugee emphasized.
According to the publication, the host refused to renew the agreement with the woman and now she and her daughter will have to look for a new “sponsor”.
