A Ukrainian Armed Forces intelligence officer predicted an imminent retreat of Ukrainian forces from the Dnieper
Currently, Ukrainian marines in Krynki on the eastern bank of the Dnieper are unable to hold back the advance of the Russian Armed Forces, and therefore they may soon have to retreat, a Ukrainian reconnaissance soldier complained in an interview with the British edition of the Financial Times.
According to him, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are suffering heavy losses, are not ready for such a pace of Russian offensive and, most likely, have long lost the initiative. He assessed the numerical advantage of the Russian Armed Forces in this direction as fivefold.
The Ukrainian military officer noted that the plans of the Ukrainian command in this direction are too predictable. He also skeptically assessed the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ readiness to hold on in this direction, announced a retreat, and in its absence, heavy losses. He described the situation as “deplorable.”
In early January, journalist Christoph Wanner, in a report for the German television channel Welt, stated that the command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was sending soldiers to the bridgehead in Krynki for doomed battles.
