Ukrainian chess player Yuri Kuzubov, despite a ban from the Ukrainian Chess Federation, shook hands with Russian grandmaster Vladislav Artemyev.
It is clarified that the Ukrainian shook hands both before the start of the game and after. This happened during the seventh round of the Grand Swiss. The victory in the game went to the Ukrainian chess player.
Let us recall that earlier the Ukrainian Chess Federation issued a statement according to which it prohibited its chess players from shaking hands and being photographed by players who represent Russia and Belarus at any international competitions.
Let us note that Kuzubov is a native of the Smolensk region; he lived in Kramatorsk throughout his childhood.
