Mayor of Voronezh: a sports and recreation complex will appear at school No. 4

The mayor of the city Vadim Kstenin in his telegram channel reported that a search had begun in Voronezh for a contractor who would design and build a physical education center in secondary school No. 4 in the Sovetsky district.
– Thanks to the support of Governor Alexander Gusev, we are able to implement very significant projects for our schools, including those built decades ago. Bidding has been announced for the development of documentation, construction and equipment of a sports and recreation complex on the territory of school No. 4, said Vadim Yuryevich.
The development of the project and construction will be carried out by one company, which will win the bidding and enter into a contract with the administration of Voronezh. The practice of delivering projects on a turnkey basis has been used for several years; this significantly saves budget funds.
There are more than 700 children studying at school No. 4 and it is necessary to expand opportunities for them to play sports. At the moment, the educational institution only has a gym in the school building for basic classes. To visit sections, students have to travel to other institutions.
The contractor will need to complete engineering surveys by mid-2024, then begin construction of the sports complex according to the developed project. The object must include:
- gym with an area of 1008 square meters,
- locker rooms,
- coaching rooms,
- showers,
- rooms for medical staff,
- and other technical spaces.
“I know that the school does not yet have a good outdoor sports ground, so we will build a football field,” the mayor of Voronezh continued. – There will be a warm-up area along the perimeter of the field. After concluding the contract, I instructed the Department of Physical Education and Sports to actively interact with the customer and the contractor. In total, they intend to allocate 147 million rubles to the facility.
The sports department must advise the contractor on all aspects – from field marking to the purchase of equipment. The facility will be financed mainly from the regional budget.
Let us remind you that in Voronezh they are seriously engaged in the development of sports infrastructure. For example, a large-scale reconstruction of the Yubileiny Sports Palace is underway, and 16 municipal sports schools have been renovated. This is SSHOR No. 25, where the weightlifting and volleyball halls have been renovated. At Olympic Reserve School No. 2, serious work has been carried out to repair the roof, ventilation, lighting, and insulate the building. This fall, the school hosted the Russian Sports Acrobatics Championship.
