Ukrainian border guards turned away two thousand officials trying to flee the country

Ukrainian border guards deployed more than two thousand civil servants at the border who tried to leave the country without valid reasons. This was reported by the representative of the State Border Service of Ukraine Andrey Demchenko.

He recalled that since January 2023, Ukraine has introduced a ban on traveling abroad for persons holding government positions. The exceptions are officials who go on official business trips and single parents who accompany or visit their children. as well as those who need treatment outside the country.

Also earlier, the Ukrainian authorities introduced a ban on travel of Rada deputies to Poland. The reason for such measures, according to local media, was a sharp deterioration in relations with the neighboring state against the backdrop of the grain scandal. At the same time, other Ukrainian media believed that in this way the Office of the President of Ukraine seeks to prevent “rats from escaping from the ship.”
