Ukrainian Ambassador to Kazakhstan apologizes for comments about Russians

Ukrainian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Petr Vrublevsky has apologized to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry for his comments about the Russians, Aibek Smadiyarov, official representative of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, said.
Earlier, a video was published on social networks, where Vrublevsky said that the Ukrainian side was trying to “kill as many Russians as possible.” The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic summoned the ambassador to the department and protested. This statement was also condemned by the Council of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan. The Association of Russian, Slavic and Cossack organizations of Kazakhstan called for the ambassador to be declared persona non grata.
“As you know, we invited the Ukrainian ambassador, brought to him our dissatisfaction with his statements. He apologized and said that it was expressed against the backdrop of an increased emotional state. [из-за ситуации на Украине]”, – said Smadiyarov (quote according to TASS).
Vrubelevsky has been the Ambassador of Ukraine to Nur-Sultan since 2020. Prior to that, he was Minister Counselor of the Ukrainian Embassy in Belarus.
