In Ukraine, the age limit for military registration has been lowered, now it is 25 years, not 27, as previously, RIA Novosti reports.
The corresponding bill was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of the country. The move will reportedly allow more Ukrainians to be called up for military service during mobilization, said Taras Melnichuk, government spokesman in the Verkhovna Rada.
Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada extended martial law and general mobilization until August 18. As explained earlier in the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, during martial law, conscription for military service is not carried out. During its operation, a situation arises when a significant number of citizens fit for military service who do not have the status of military servicemen cannot be involved in military service by conscription during mobilization.
Melnichuk said that the bill had been approved and would now be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada for consideration.
