Ukraine and Poland have agreed on an action plan to unblock the border, the Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure said in a statement.

“The parties reached an understanding of compromise solutions and their implementation. Changes to the current agreement on the liberalization of freight transport, which Polish carriers demand, are not being discussed,” the statement said.

It is noted that the next stage is negotiations at the level of the Polish Ministry of Infrastructure and protesters in Poland. Earlier, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Poland Pawel Gancharz expressed hope that before Catholic Christmas it will be possible to solve the problem of blocking the border.

Earlier it was reported that Polish carriers began to block border crossings on the Polish-Ukrainian border. Their demand is the abolition of benefits for Ukrainian carriers and a return to the previous system, under which Ukrainians had to obtain permits for transportation. The media reported that queues of trucks on Polish territory stretched for 50 km, and at least three drivers from Ukraine died in the queues.
