Ugra will host the second Winter Paralympic Games

The “We Are Together.Sport” competition will be held from March 18 to 28.
President of the Russian Paralympic Committee Pavel Rozhkov noted that the events that were held in the Autonomous Okrug through the Paralympic Committee were brilliant.
“It is important that Yugra is one of the leading regions in working with participants in a special military operation who have received serious injuries,” emphasized Pavel Rozhkov.
Let us remind you that the International Paralympic Committee suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from the 2022 Games in Beijing after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. But the leadership of the Russian Federation decided to hold alternative competitions for them in Ugra. Alternative Paralympic Games “We are together. Sport” took place from March 18 to 21 in Khanty-Mansiysk. About a hundred athletes from Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan took part in the competition, who competed for medals in six sports included in the program of the Winter Paralympic Games: cross-country skiing, biathlon, snowboarding, alpine skiing, wheelchair curling and sledge hockey .
Let us add that in total, in 2024, Ugra planned to hold more than seven hundred physical education and sports events of various sizes – from local to international.
